Stephanie Walker

About

Hi, I'm Stephanie.

Stephanie Young Walker played indoor and beach volleyball at Florida Atlantic from 2019 to 2023, earning Conference USA honors in both.

In 2024 I played a year of beach volleyball at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and earned my MBA in Business Analytics. The Islanders won the Southland Conference championship and earned a bid to the NCAA Beach Championship, and I was named Southland First Team All-Conference at pair three.

I used my last year of eligibility at TCU, where we earned the program's first-ever top-25 national ranking and its first 20-win season since 2011. I started at setter in the NCAA Tournament against Hawaii and we won that match.

After TCU I spent 2025 as an assistant coach at Rollins College. Now I'm back in DFW teaching private lessons.

My path wasn't linear. Near the end of my time at FAU I was being nudged toward early graduation. I got good advice, stayed, and tried out for FAU beach that spring. In my senior year we won the beach conference tournament and reached the NCAA Beach Championship, the one NCAA appearance of my time at FAU. That spring changed the trajectory. From there it was a year of beach at Corpus Christi, then a final year of indoor at TCU in the Big 12.

Along the way I played through a broken hand, a major concussion, COVID and long-COVID, and more than one season that almost didn't happen. Everything I teach is shaped by that.

How I coach

Honest, specific, and calm. Volleyball is a sport where confidence and technique feed each other, and rushed or vague coaching breaks both. My players know what we're working on, why we're working on it, and what a good rep looks like.

My faith shaped how I moved through a college career that included long stretches of injury and real uncertainty, and that perspective quietly shapes how I coach too. Lessons are about volleyball. But character, grit, and trusting your team are part of how you play the game.
